Baked Apple Halves with Cinnamon Crisp

Ingredients:

For the Apple Halves:

  • 4 large apples (Granny Smith, Honeycrisp, or your favorite baking apple)
  • 1/2 cup Butter Than Jam Apple Cinnamon Bliss fruit butter

For the Crisp Topping:

  • 1/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 2 tablespoons brown sugar
  • 1/4 teaspoon ground cinnamon
  • Pinch of salt
  • 4 tablespoons cold unsalted butter, cubed

For Serving:

  • Plain Greek yogurt
  • Cinnamon
  • Honey

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Apples:

    • Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
    • Slice the apples in half, remove the core, and slightly hollow out the center, leaving the skin on.
  2. Create the Crisp Topping:

    • In a medium bowl, combine flour, oats, brown sugar, cinnamon, and salt.
    • Cut in the cold butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
  3. Assemble and Bake:

    • Arrange apple halves in a greased baking dish, cut side up.
    • Fill each apple cavity with Apple Cinnamon Bliss fruit butter.
    • Top with the crisp topping, ensuring even coverage.
    • Pour 1/4 cup water into the baking dish to prevent drying.
    • Cover loosely with aluminum foil and bake for 25 minutes.
    • Remove foil, add another 1/4 cup water, and bake for an additional 35 minutes or until tender and golden brown.
  4. Serve:

    • Let the apple halves cool slightly.
    • Top with a dollop of Greek yogurt, a drizzle of honey, and a sprinkle of cinnamon.
